THE BASE CAMP EXERCISE
This May, we hosted our 2017 Base Camp Exercise at our facility in York, Alabama. The theme was “CUSTOMIZE YOUR CAMP: ANYTIME, ANYWHERE, ANYWAY.” Our team members gathered for two days worth of training, followed by our Customer Showcase on the third day. Team members were able to renew certifications, such as CPR, ServSafe, and Forklift Certification, and also received training on how to set up our equipment. This will contribute to our success when the time comes to actually set up a base camp during a storm. During the exercise, we also dove into understanding the roles each team member will play on site, had a refresher course on how to conduct a safety meeting, and participated in numerous team-building experiences.
We were honored to have the opportunity to visit with numerous customers at the annual Meet and Greet, followed by the Customer Showcase the next day. To kick the day off, Storm Services’ team member Scott Maddox shared some of his experiences from a past life as a “hurricane hunter.” Following this, customers were able to tour our facility, take a peek at our new equipment, and hear about a few new concepts we’re working on.
